# Making a movie in Fiji
* Open the image.
* Select a region of interest with the rectangle tool. Make a note of the parts of the time series you're interested in. In this example the start is frame 80 and en is frame 280.
* Duplicate (`Image > Duplicate...` or `Shift+D`) and restrict to times you're interest in:

* Add a scale bar (optional). `Analyze > Tools > Scale Bar...`. Make sure it is not an overlay and that all slices are selected.

* Add a time stamp (optional). Find out the frame interval (`Image > Properties` or `Shift+P`). Now add the timestamp by going to `Image > Stacks > Time Stamper`.
* Enter the frame interval in the interval box.
* If you want the absolute time multiple the starting frame by the frame interval. In this example the start time would be
$$\text{Starting Time}=80 \times 0.12\,\text{ sec}=9.6\,\text{sec}$$

* Export to AVI by going to `File > Save As > AVI..`. The frame rate determines how quickly the images change in the movie.
